In honour of my grandmother and the children of our village — we’re building brighter futures through education, sport, and opportunity.
Who We Are
Zainab Foundation is a grassroots initiative inspired by the love and care of one grandmother — and rooted in the remote village of Assin Fosu-Odumase, Ghana.
We support children who lack access to the most basic resources — from school uniforms and shoes to sports kits and digital tools — not just to meet their needs, but to restore confidence and inspire ambition.
Through donated essentials, community sports programmes, and early digital skills training, we’re bridging the opportunity gap one act of kindness at a time — helping children believe in themselves, dream bigger, and rise beyond their circumstances.
Basic Essentials
We donate clothing, shoes, and other basic items to children in need — helping them stay warm, safe, and confident at school and at play. Together, we remove barriers and brighten futures.
Educational Support
We support children with school bags, stationery, and other essentials that make learning more accessible — and more enjoyable.
Community Engagement
We organise sports activities that build teamwork and confidence, introduce digital skills for the future, and work closely with families and teachers to support every child’s dreams.
Our Projects
Prothestic Leg For William Sekyi
With my colleagues from Odumase we raised £250 for William Sekyi to get a prothestic leg. William broke his leg whilst playing the curtain raiser match for the 2019 Odumase Christmas football games. Due to lack of funds or ignorance he was not taken to hospital immediately. This made matters worse when doctors had to amputate the leg in order to save his life. When we heard of this sad story, we managed to raise the amount needed to get him a prothestic leg and restore his confidence thanks to our generous donors.

In May, 2024, I donated a full set of football jerseys and a football to Odumase Primary School — the very school I attended as a child. It was a small gesture with a big purpose: to encourage play, build confidence, and remind the children that they are seen, supported, and capable of achieving great things. This act of giving back is at the heart of what Zainab Foundation stands for — opening doors for the next generation, starting right where our story began.
